The app doesn't open automatically when the TV is switched on. What should I do?
If the app doesn't open automatically when the device is switched on, the cause is usually one of the following:
- The Auto Start option is disabled.
- The Display over other apps permission is disabled.
- You are using a TCL Smart TV, which has its own startup control.
Turn on the Auto Start option
The Auto Start option is enabled by default, but it may have been disabled by mistake at some point when you were editing the TV's settings.
- In the dashboard, go to the page for this device.
- Click the Extras tab.
- Turn on the Auto Start option.
Grant the Display over other apps permission
On most devices, the app asks for the permissions it needs the first few times it is opened. For the overlay permission, a window opens where you just need to enable the app and press BACK on the device's remote control.
If the window is closed without enabling the app, it asks for the permission a few more times when it starts. If the permission is never granted, or if the window doesn't appear (which happens on a small number of devices), grant it manually:
- On the device, open Settings.
- Go to Apps.
- Open Special app access.
- Select Display over other apps.
- Enable the Adeus Pendrive app.
Note: if you have any questions about this procedure, contact our support team.
TCL Smart TV
On TCL Smart TVs, in addition to the permissions above, you may need to adjust TCL's security app, which usually has a shield icon.
- Open TCL's security app.
- Go to the autostart option.
- Set the Adeus Pendrive app to Open or Enabled.
Note: in rare cases, the TV may not start the app automatically even with everything allowed.
If none of this solves the problem, contact our support team.
