The app closes after a few hours and goes back to the home screen. What should I do?

This problem only affects some MXQ and Tanix devices. It usually happens about 2 to 3 hours after the device is turned on: the app closes and the device goes back to the home screen (the launcher).

It started around early December 2023, after an internal update to the launcher on these devices.

Recommended solution: replace the device

We don't recommend using these devices: they aren't certified by Google and don't meet the minimum reliability recommended for use. The best solution is to replace the device with one from the list of recommended Android devices.

If you want to keep using the device

You can replace the device's launcher with Cloud Launcher, a lightweight and simple launcher. You can also use a different launcher if you prefer.

1. On the device, download Cloud Launcher.
2. Install the file and confirm the message on the screen, if one appears.
3. Press the HOME button on the remote control. A window to choose the launcher should appear.
4. Choose Cloud Launcher. It's a black screen with a small grid-of-squares icon in the bottom-right corner.
5. Press HOME again. Cloud Launcher should appear as the first option in the list.
6. With Cloud Launcher selected, choose Always to set it as the default.
7. Press HOME once more and check that Cloud Launcher opens right away, without asking again.
8. Open the Adeus Pendrive app from the grid-of-squares icon (app list).
9. Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute and press HOME. Check that Cloud Launcher opens right away.
10. Unplug the device from power and plug it back in.
11. Check that Cloud Launcher opens and that the app starts on its own after a few seconds.

Important: the most important step is choosing Always when you press HOME, to set Cloud Launcher as the default. After restarting, the old launcher should no longer appear.

If the app still doesn't start automatically after this, install an auto-start app and test again. Use one of these options:

• autostart
• onboot, as an alternative to autostart
